What a special day today was. Nyah had made the decision to be baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. We are so proud of Nyah in making this big decision in her life. She truly looked like a angle on her special day. I'm sure that she felt like one too.
The Baptism program was so neat. It started with the song Baptism, then Grandpa Fell said the opening prayer. Our really good friend Gary Gunn talked on Baptism, then Erica Whittington sang the most beautiful song called "What Heaven Thinks of Me". If you already weren't crying you were now. This is a song that she would sing when she babysat to the girls at night when she put them to bed, so it was a special one to Nyah. Here are the words,Sent to this earth you were saved through the ages for this day
and time Child of great worth, Child of promise, daughter
of the Divine Pure and holy in a little white dress You were
held in a circle and you were blessed And the Father looked
down And the angels surrounded that place They knew the truth,
all that you could do And you will too If you have eyes to see
what heaven sees in you
Dressed in white once more Making promises to follow in Gods's
way So much lies in store For the little girl who enters at the gate
Pure and holy in a little white dress You were let into the water
and you were blessed And the Father looks down And the angles surrounded
that place They know the truth, all that you could do and you do too
If you have eyes to see what heaven sees in you
Do you understand who you are Part of the Father lives in you
And id you continue on this path Every promise God has given will come
true Heaven on earth in the house of God So much fills your heart and mind
Woman of great worth Woman of promise daughter of the Divine Pure and holy
in a long white dress You promise for ever and you are blessed And the Father looks
down And the angels surround that place They know the truth all that you can do
And you do too Cause you have eyes to see what heaven sees in you
Will you have eyes to see What heaven sees in you
After that beautiful song Mike Baptized Nyah. Then our good friend Jaxon Gregory gave a talk on the Holy Ghost. He too did a great job. Mike then confirmed Nyah a member of the church. We sang I am a Child of God and Grandpa Averett gave the closing prayer.
Nyah's primary teacher Sister Trane played the piano not only did she do that but she has also taught Nyah so much about the Gospel.
After the Baptism we had everyone over to our house for lunch. We really enjoyed sharing this special day with friends and family.Wow! What a awesome day! I don't think that I have felt the spirit so strongly in awhile. Your Baptism was so beautiful. Full of knowledge and wisdom. You are a daughter of God and a chosen one for this day. Us your strong will to stay strong in the church and to help you threw hard decisions. If you do this you will make it to the temple one day with that special young man that will make you feel like the princess that you are. You are beautiful on the inside and out. Please don't let the world take this from you. Hold true to who you are and who you know you are. Please don't ever forget how you felt today. Life will throw hard things at you but if you remember how you felt today you can get threw anything.
We love you Nyah!
