Idaho

What a great way to end spring break with a trip to Idaho.  The kids had such a great time visiting with family, playing with cousins and swimming in the pool oh and my favorite part staying in a hotel (staying in a hotel with kids is like trying to survive with no sleep).  

I was so glad we went up when we did my mom was all smiles.  She smiled from the moment we went into her room tell we left.  I was so glad we got to see her when she was doing this well.

Adelynn's to funny

I got a e-mail today from Adelynn reading teacher here is what it said,

I just have to share with you what Addy said on Friday. We had just finished a book called, "I Was So Mad." We were writing about what made her mad and she told me she never gets mad. So we were writing the word "never." She put "re" instead of "er" and when she noticed she gave a huge gasp. I looked at her kind of puzzled and she declared, "I'm dramatic!" I laughed and said, "Where did you get that from?" She said, "My mom tells me that all the time!" It made me laugh so hard that we changed her story and she wrote, "I never get mad, but I am dramatic!"

Easter Egg Hunt

After the twilight zone car ride ended just after 5 o'clock we ran the kids into the house to see what the Easter Bunny had hid for them.  We just had a few minutes before the Easter party at Gunn's house.  Alyse found her basket pretty fast it was in the bookshelf.  She was so excited candy was just sitting there waiting for her to eat it. 

   

Ella found hers fast by the help of her sister Adelynn.  Ella too was excited she loves to paint and she found the Easter Bunny had left her some cute little Easter guys to paint.  

It took Adelynn a little to find her basket it was hidden in the front closet.  

Nyah was close to tears she could not find her Easter basket and everyone else had theirs and was enjoying candy and their new things.  Plus it was time to go to the Gunn's Easter party.  Nyah was a little stressed.  Adelynn came round the corner and saw the basket on top of the entertainment center.  Nyah was excited she hadn't been forgotten.

  

After a yummy ham dinner the kids ran to collect their 10 eggs.  This year the eggs were stuffed with money!  The girls had so much fun finding eggs hidden in the Gunn's backyard. 

The girls were really fast at finding their eggs I turned around and Nyah was done.  I felt bad I had missed the whole thing.  I guess thats why the bunny hide her basket so hard.

Zions

Zions National Park.  I was so excited to go see Zions I've never been there before so I too thought that would be a great way to end our trip to St. George.  We thought we would drive threw the park then head on home.  The park was beautiful but we really weren't thinking about the time it would add on to our drive.  Hello our now4 hour drive turned into the the twilight zone of driving it ended up taking us 8 hours on the car with kids!!  

Here we are not knowing how long the drive was going to be.  So happy enjoying the park and the warmth of the sun.  

Mike and Alyse climbed up the rock.  Ok Mike climbed Alyse held on.

You can't really tell by the picture but this really is a hill.  The kids climbed it no problem coming down was a little scary for them.  Adelynn later in the day kept saying man my legs hurt.  

 This is one good looking family.  Yes all still happy not knowing about the car ride   twilight zone to come.

Nyah's Birthday (part1)

 Nyah's birthday happened to fall on spring break so a party with friends was going to be tricky do to the fact everyone was vacationing.  Nyah loves St. George so we decided for her birthday we would vacation in St. George.  We were lucky to have Aunt Melanie and Uncle Mark join us for the fun weekend.  

 Nyah had planned out the day, first she wanted to go swimming.   We went to the community to pool.  I thought it was going to be better then the pool at the hotel because they had slides, buckets that would dump water on you, and a lazy river.  Boy was I wrong the lifeguards were bigger fun hatters then me.  I think that they blew the whistle on us about 6 times.  

After swimming Melanie and I took the girls shopping.  Nyah found some great stuff at her favorite store Justice.  Following shopping we all went to dinner at Brick Oven.  If your going out for your birthday they have the best birthday dessert.  When they came out to sing to Nyah they brought out chocolate cream pie.  My favorite!  To finish off the day Nyah opened her gifts.  Not a traditional birthday but a fun one.

Coloring Eggs

We all still love to color eggs.  Since we are going out of town for Easter we did the eggs early.  Look at all these serious faces.   

Alyse was making us all laugh so hard.  She had so much fun.  She could hardly believe that she would put a white egg in and it would come out another color.  She would go to take the egg of the dye and would get so excited that she would drop the egg back in the dye.

  

The girls had so much fun coloring eggs they were so sad when all the eggs had been colored.

Snow Day

 We finally got our Snow Day!  It's funny because all the other snow that we have had has melted before the girls get out of school and get a chance to play in it.  Well it finally happened the snow came and it stayed.  

 Nyah loved trying to surf/snowboard on the sled Adelynn is such a good sport pulling her sister around.

Alyse liked the snow for about 10 minutes.

Ella and Adelynn had so much fun barring each other in the snow.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve has finally arrived. This year I decided to make it a less stressful night. I moved all the family parties to earlier in the week or the month. I also made sure everything was wrapped and ready to go before the big night. I loved it! Our friends the Bagley's decided to join us this year because all their kids are big and lets face it little kids are the best around Christmas time.

I wanted a picture of the girls by the tree and Alyse did not want to be in it with the girls. We tried to trick her I told the girls I would count to three and then I wanted them to run into the picture next to Alyse. She was not happy about this.

Alyse was ok with her sisters being in the picture if her Dad was in it also.

We had a great evening. We started it off with fondue and lots of other yummy eats.  Then we opened our Christmas Eve pj's.

After we all got cozy in our new Pj's we watched a Muppet's Christmas Carol.  We had such a nice relaxing evening.  The girls were all so excited for morning so they went to bed really well.

(I'm not sure why this is out of order!!)

 Happy 4th Birthday Ella!  We celebrated all weekend long.  The party started on Saturday she invited a few of her friends to kangaroo zoo.  They jumped and jumped tell they couldn't jump any longer.

  

 Ella was so excited Grandpa Fell came down and brought lots of love from Grandma Fell.  Grandpa gave her some puzzles for her birthday.  They got right to work putting them together.  That is one thing that she loves about Grandpa Fell he will do the puzzles with her for hours.

Ella wanted to have a Tiana birthday so this is the cake I made her.

 Ella loved it.

After church we let her open her gifts.  I know I broke my rules we hadn't even sang happy birthday or blown out candles.  It was really hard for Ella to wait any longer we don't get home from church tell after 4.

 Ella's 4 year pictures!  I'm really excited at how well these photo's captures Ella.  Ella has a heart of gold.  She is so sweet to everyone.  She is ready to protect anyone in her family (so look out when your at the playground and you want to play chase with one of her sisters). 

 Ella loves, loves puzzles right now.  She will spend hours working on them. 

 Ella is a good little sister to her big sisters and a good big sister to her little sister. 

Happy 4th birthday big girl.  Mom and Dad love you so much!

Ella's Quote of the Week

Aunt Melanie and Uncle Mark invited Adelynn and Nyah to go swimming. Ella was sad she wanted to go. I told her that she couldn't go because she was sick. Ella said "well then can you turn on the sprinklers so I can run through them." I said oh no honey it's to cold outside. Ella then said "but Mom I will put on my coat."

Gingerbread Houses

We finally had a few hours that we were all home so we could put together our Gingerbread houses. This year I got a little village that way everyone had their own house to put together. It worked out really well there was not fighting.

No worries Alyse is not bleeding she had been eating the frosting. Mike and Alyse teamed up and did a house together.

Ella and I worked on a house together.

Nyah and Adelynn were on their own.

We decided to make it into a competition. When the houses were all complete Mike called our neighbor Gary to come over and judge the houses. We put them all in the center of the table and didn't tell the Gunns who's house was who's. Adelynn won! They said that hers was the most unique.

Sugar Cookies

There is one thing about Christmas that is a must have and that's my Mom's sugar cookies. I did so good I put the crazy Keri away and let Nyah and her friend Halle make the sugar cookies. I normally don't ever let the kids roll the dough out and cut out the shapes and most of all I never let them frost them. I just hate the mess. But look at me this year I just got out all the stuff and left the room.

The kids had a blast making their own cookies.

It really wasn't to bad of a mess either.

I'm glad that I just chilled and let the kids make and decorate cookies. They all had such a great time.
